CST 8128 — Lab 9

1. Review section 7.1 (starting on page 302) on Creating and Accessing Arrays, from your reading assignment.
2. Follow the example procedures 1 to 7 (pages 304 to 312).
3. Do several of the exercises on pages 313 to 320, especially Exercises 19 to 37 on pages 317 to 320, and record the ones you did in your Weekly Log Sheet.
4. Move on to section 7.2 (starting on page 320) on Using Arrays, which you read last week.
5. Follow the example procedures 1 to 5 (pages 321 to 329).
6. Do several of the practice exercises on pages 333 to 335, numbers 13 to 26, and record the ones you did in your Weekly Log Sheet.

Evaluation Tasks:

• Answer a 10-minute, open-book, offline quiz (no computer allowed) on material up to and including Chapter 6.
• Demonstrate your solution to any one of the five problems 21, 22, 23, 25, or 26 (pages 334 and 335) to your instructor, illustrating the correct use of arrays in your programming.  Use good style (proper indentation, comments, functions and subprograms) in all your programming.
• Before you leave the Lab today, hand in to your instructor a Weekly Log Sheet with the following information:
1. Your name, printed legibly.
2. Your student number, also printed to be readable.
3. Today's Lab number and today's date.
4. The list of practice exercises and problems you tried while working on this section of the textbook (from the list of practice exercises and problems assigned above).

Before next week:

Read the remainder of Chapter 7 on "Arrays": sections 7.3 (Control Arrays), 7.4 (Sorting and Searching) in preparation for next week.  Do the examples.  (We will not cover sections 7.5 and 7.6; however, you may wish to read these sections to learn more about the power of Visual Basic.)

Keep a written record of any problems or exercises you attempt so that you may enter this information into next week's Weekly Log Sheet.
